Our Story

Unity Educational Trust (UET) is an exciting venture that has been many years in the making. It aims to bring a fresh approach to Islamic madrassah education. Our aim is to nurture confident, grounded individuals who are passionate about their faith and committed to making a positive difference to the society in which they live.

From its inception, UET has tapped into the expertise of the local and regional Muslim community. We have a core team of six trustees who oversee management, quality and growth. Our trustees are themselves parents, who collectively considered a gap in the provision of high quality, forward-thinking Islamic education locally. They sought an environment that was reflective of the needs of Muslim children in modern Britain and responsive to the technological advances in education. Along with unrelenting passion as parents, they bring with them professional expertise from the fields of Education, Law, Social Care, Psychology, Youth and Community Work, to name a few.

UET is a not-for-profit organisation, supported by volunteers who are passionate about bringing a fresh approach to madrassah education in Blackburn. Our mission is to provide high quality education based upon Islamic principles and the teachings and practices of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW. Our focus is to enrich the lives of children and young people with shared values based upon mutual love and respect which extends beyond the madrassah and into the wider community.
