Our Curriculum

TAJWEED & QU’RAN

The students are taught Tajweed by our experienced and qualified staff who has received a sanad in this subject.

They are taught both the theory as well as practical. Tajweed consists of learning and discussing each and every Arabic letter, from where it exits, how it is pronounced with all its permanent and impermanent qualities / attributes and more.

Tajweed is a very important subject as reading the Qu’ran without it could lead to you making a grave mistake and committing sin. Also, there are many people who read the Qu’ran and the Qu’ran curses them such as those who recite it against the rules of Tajweed. Therefore we regard it as highly important and ensure each child is taught Tajweed from a young age.

FIQH

Students will learn all the aspects of Islamic rules such as purity and this will include: water impurity, cleansing oneself, ablution, ritual bath, dry ablution and more.

The students then progress to focus more on prayer and the different areas within it such as: the different types of prayers, necessary and recommended components of prayer, in-validators and offensive elements of the prayer, optional prayers and more.

SEERAH

Students will briefly learn about the prophets, beginning with Prophet Adam (Alayhisalaam). Moving on the students will study the life of the last and final Messenger (Peace and Blessings be upon Him). Progressing, shama’il will be taught where the students will study the intricate details of the last and final Messenger’s (Peace and Blessings be upon Him) appearance, belongings, manners and life.

AQEEDAH

Aqeedah refers to the matters which are believed in with complete certainty and conviction in ones heart and soul. There is no place for doubt or uncertainty in such matters. We place great importance upon this subject and ensure each child understands and knows what they believe in.

Students are taught the six pillars of Aqeedah which consists of belief in: Allah (swt), His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, The Last day and belief in al-Qadr (Predestination) – its good and evil.

MAWLID

In addition to these subjects, every Thursday the Madrassa holds an assembly, we call it Sunnah Day. This consists of announcements and rewarding well behaved and exceptional students. The assembly also involves recitation of nasheeds and qasida’s both collectively and individually. This allows students to feel more comfortable and increase in confidence.

SUNNAH SPORTS & ACTIVITIES

At Unity Madrassah we have a range of fun activities for the students after Madrassa to take part in. We like to include Sunnah sports such as archery so the students can extract maximum benefit and stay fit and healthy. We also like to plan other fun activities such as trips as we believe it is important to treat the students for all their hard work  and dedication.
