Madrassah/Parent Agreement

Vision Statement

We are determined to create an inclusive culture of learning where all children will be challenged to achieve to the best of their abilities. We will empower children to become respected standard bearers of Islam and to enable them to make valuable contributions locally and globally. This can be done most effectively when all staff, parents and children understand their responsibilities and work together towards the same goals, as detailed in our Madrassah/Home agreement.

The Madrassah will:

  • Provide your child with a high standard of Islamic education.
  • Encourage the highest standards and expect your child to make excellent progress in their education.
  • Ensure that our learning environment is safe, stimulating and challenging to enable your child to achieve their full potential.
  • Regularly meet with you to communicate the progress of your child
  • Set differentiated and achievable homework to provide the opportunity for independent learning
  • Ensure that lessons are well-planned and structured, and cater for your child’s specific needs and ability.
  • Ensure that work is assessed regularly and constructive feedback is given to your child on their progress and how they can improve further.
  • Arrange an individual learning plan review meeting, between parents, teachers and your child, at the end of each semester.
  • Provide information and helpful training sessions for you that will give you confidence to support your child.

I as a parent/carer will:

  • Ensure that my child will arrive at school by 5.10pm, will be picked up at 6.45pm and ensure that I park responsibly.
  • Make sure that my child is wearing appropriate and presentable school uniform.
  • Endeavour to provide a safe, secure and happy environment at home for my child, acknowledging that they learn at home.
  • Let the school know of any concerns or worries that may be affecting my child’s learning, behaviour or ability to perform
  • Support the Madrassah by encouraging my child to develop a positive attitude towards our ethos.
  • Attend meetings with my child’s teacher and other staff, aiming to be positive and productive.
  • Support and work with you to ensure that the behaviour management policy of the school is maintained, particularly with my child.
  • Encourage a positive attitude towards my child’s education and our Madrassah. If I have any concerns, I will discuss them with you directly.
  • Read all information sent home as this gives me important details of relevant information needed to support my child’s learning.
  • Support the school by making sure that homework tasks are completed and returned on time
  • Use my talents and experiences to enhance my child’s learning at home

I, as a Pupil of Unity Madrassah, will:

  • Abide by the Madrassah Behaviour Policy
  • Be respectful to my teachers and my fellow students
  • Respect other children’s culture, race, feelings and not engage in any form of bullying.
  • Accept responsibility for the things that I do, behave in a safe way and be helpful.
  • Be responsible for my Madrassah and homework.
  • Ask for help if I need it and try my best in all that do.
  • Ensure that I take home all Madrassah letters.
  • Take good care of the building, equipment and Madrassah grounds.
  • Tell a member of staff if I am worried or unhappy.
