We believe that the school should provide a caring, positive, safe and stimulating environment, which promotes all pupils’ social, physical, emotional and moral development.
Ultimately, effective child protection and safeguarding of children can only be achieved by putting children at the centre of a wider safeguarding system with every individual and agency playing their full part, working together to meet the needs of all and particularly our most vulnerable children in line with: Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2019.
Safeguarding is defined as:
- Protecting children from maltreatment;
- Preventing impairment of children’s health or development;
- Ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and
- Taking action to enable all children to have the best life chances.
Where it is believed that a child is at risk of or is suffering significant harm, the school will follow the procedures set out in the Blackburn with Darwen Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) [Pan Lancashire] Procedures.
The school admission policy, as such, provides for entry for all Muslim children, with preference given to those families who adhere to the teachings of the Sunni Muslim faith.
